Jāņi, a Latvian festival, is celebrated from the night of 23 June to 24 June to honor a Latvian pagan deity called Jānis. This day is very special for everyone called Jānis or John and also the whole of Latvia. Men decorate themselves with leaves and women with flowers. And there is celebration all around, with songs, dances and delicious food.
Why are we speaking about the festival of June in October? Our fellow blogger, Esengas voice, wants to celebrate this festival in the blogging world. Esengas voice has a lovely blog, with colorful photos, evocative haikus and poems.

To me, a great blog is something that makes you travel to a new world of the blogger’s choice. If not, it should make you pause a moment and think enough to click the like button.
My choices for the Līgo Circle of Appreciation are:
David: David’s blog, thoughtsfromtheoutdoors, explores nature with beautiful pictures and deeply felt words. Start your journey in this blog and feel the outdoors in Florida for yourself.
Cuhullen: Human nature, romance, and humor – Cuhullen’s blog has it all! This blogger has also begun to explore fiction and it looks very promising. Check it out!
Thank you, Esengas voice, for inviting me to the Līgo Circle of Appreciation. So, let us join Latvia in celebrating this festival.
